Why I'm Building TivaPulse (After Restarting My AI Coach Four Times)
This year I used an AI chat as my nutritionist and trainer. Every day.
And honestly? It helped a lot. I went from the mid-220s down into the low-180s. I’m not going to pretend I did it alone.
But the way I had to do it was a pain, and there’s one problem I couldn’t get around. That’s why I’m building TivaPulse.
My daily routine
Here’s what a normal day looked like.
I’d do my workout on my Forme cable machine and log it in Alpha Progression. I’d do my Zone 2 treadmill walk with my Polar heart rate monitor, and it would show up in Polar Flow. I’d weigh in. I’d check my blood sugar and ketones. And on the first of every month, I’d add one more thing: measuring my chest, waist, hips, and a few other spots.
Then I’d take screenshots. Polar Flow, Alpha Progression, all of it. I’d upload them into the chat, type in my numbers, and ask what to change. What to eat, how hard to push, whether that scale bump was something to worry about.
Almost every day, for months.
It worked. But I was basically a full-time data entry guy for my own health.
Then the chat would fall apart
Here’s the part that really got me.
After a while, the chat would start to go wrong. It would forget things I’d told it weeks earlier. It would mix up numbers. Sometimes it would just make stuff up with total confidence. The longer the conversation went, the worse it got.
Eventually it got so bad I couldn’t use it anymore. So I’d start a brand new chat. From scratch. Re-explain my goals, my eating, my training, my history. All of it.
I did that four times this year.
Every restart, I lost the history I’d built up. The new chat didn’t know about the restaurant dinner that bumped my scale for two days, or that my smart scale kept misreading my muscle, or which lifts I’d been pushing. I had to teach it all over again, and hope I didn’t forget something important.
That’s when it clicked for me. The coaching part wasn’t the problem. The memory was.
What I want instead
So I’m building the thing I wished I had.
TivaPulse pulls your health data into one place. Right now that means uploading screenshots from the apps and devices you already use, like your scale, fitness tracker, or workout log, and it reads the numbers for you. We’re testing more as we go.
Then there’s Tiva, the AI coach built into the app. The big difference from a regular AI chat is memory. Tiva saves your goals and the key things you share, like what’s worked and what hasn’t, so you don’t have to repeat yourself. Tiva also looks at your recent weigh-ins, measurements, and workouts, not just the last few messages. Your data stays in one place, and you’re not starting from scratch every time.
Tiva also answers from your own data. If it doesn’t have a number, it’s supposed to say so instead of guessing. After watching a chat confidently make things up, that one matters a lot to me.
Who it’s for
If you’re like me, you already track a bunch of stuff. A lifting app, a heart rate app, a scale, maybe a tape measure or a glucose meter. None of it talks to each other, and you end up being the one connecting the dots. Or you just stop.
I’m building TivaPulse so you don’t have to be the middleman, and so your coach still knows your goals months from now.
Want in?
We’re testing it now. If you want to be one of the first to try it, join the TivaPulse beta list. I’ll let you know when it’s your turn.
TivaPulse and Tiva aren’t a doctor or a dietitian, and neither am I. This is my story, not medical advice. Talk to your doctor before making big changes to your diet or training.
